Ambatovy Nickel Cobalt operations in Madagascar (a Sherritt International operation) is currently searching for an experienced Condition Monitoring Engineer to join their team in a key role effectively managing the production plant assets and defining maintenance strategies for all plant equipment.  The Condition Monitoring Engineer analyse and trend predictive maintenance data, vibrations, infra-red, boroscope etc. to determine plant condition.

The Role

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide technical monitoring and coaching of the national condition monitoring team members
  • Participate in scheduling of condition monitoring routes through CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System (EAM)
  • Conduct reviews of the condition monitoring function to identify actions for continuous improvement
  • Document results and generate reports on all monitoring activities

The Requirements

  • Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree
  • 10-15 years of overall experience in condition monitoring related activities in complex large scale industrial operations
  • Extensive knowledge in condition monitoring / predictive maintenance system application and development
  • Proven experience in vibration analysis techniques and data interpretation
  • Competency in thermography imaging
  • Familiar with PMI (Positive Material Identification) tester, boroscope and laser alignment
  • Excellent data analysis, interpretation and reporting skills
  • Able to train, mentor and coach National workforce with previous experience in developing countries

The following requirements are not negotiable:

  • Experience and Certification in Vibration analysis at least level II (preferably having used CSI technology and MHM software)
  • Experience and/or certification in thermography (Infrared Analysis)
  • Experience and/or Certification in Oil Analysis (Using LIMS system, Wear Debris Analysis, etc.)
  • Proven experience on team supervision (mentoring and coaching)
  • French speaking
