Ambatovy Nickel Cobalt operations in Madagascar is currently searching for an OPP General Foreman (Ore Processing Plant) at the mine based in Madagascar.  The OPP General Foreman will oversee all activities related to the preparation of ore, including crushing, sieving classification, pulp, thickening and pumping implementation.

The Role

In this role the successful person will be responsible for:

  • Develop and implement operating procedures so as to comply with the standards and to maximise the economic efficiency of the operations
  • Actively participate in productivity, cost of operation and loss of control
  • Develop projects aimed at improving the performance of operation of the OPP
  • Involvement in process control
  • Management and supervision of staff
  • Ensure safety and environmental standards are met
  • Maintaining all work in a neat, clean and secure manner at all times
  • Coordination of staff capacity to ensure their progress in the structured training system
  • Responsible for the annual evaluation of performance of employees under
  • Develop functional relationships with production and maintenance services

The Requirements

  • Good planning, organization and supervisory skills
  • Excellent knowledge of tools and databases
  • Excellent level of English
  • French would be a distinct advantage
  • A mechanical maintenance background
  • 6 to 8 years practical experience in processing of ore
  • Experience in training and development of staff
  • Diploma in training techniques in the treatment of ore or metal from a recognised institution
