PDAC Wrap-up 2013
More than 30,000 executives and professionals in the mining industry attended the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada’s (PDAC) annual International Convention & Trade Show; one of the largest mining conventions in the world, held in Toronto last week. PDAC organized an intensive agenda over the four day period, with a number of lectures, conferences, seminars and events covering a variety of mining topics. Ross Gallinger, Executive Director of PDAC announced that “We are very proud of the tremendous success of the PDAC Annual Convention of 2013”.
Globe 24-7 was actively involved in the convention; Regional Manager for the Americas, Jaime Alvarez and recruitment consultants Victoria Moreno and Giselle Kimos, were able to continue building strong business relationships as they met with a number of current and potential clients and candidates from all corners of the world. Globe assisted with and attended several networking events hosted by mining companies, organizations and countries; where it was reconfirmed to us that sourcing qualified talent is a core need within the industry globally. It was great to have the opportunity to share more about our services and our current and upcoming projects including RPO’s and HR consulting assignments.
It was evident that Canada & Latin American countries such as Peru, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Brazil and Mexico are beginning to show their strength and potential growth in the mining sector, which will continue to be followed with great interest by attendees from all around the world.
PDAC was a great success for Globe 24-7; we have come away armed with new insights into mining developments and trends and have strengthened and expanded our ties with several key companies. We look forward to further developing our commitment to being the leader in human resources and recruitment for the international resources industry.
